Mealtimes play an important part in developing a child’s social skills as well as giving the child an understanding of the importance of a healthy, balanced diet. During meals and snack times we ensure that the following is observed:

  • Four-week Menus are planned in advance and are on display in all rooms and in the entrance hall
  • Whole pasteurised milk, water or fruit smoothies and fresh fruit or yoghurt are provided at snack times
  • Meals are prepared avoiding large quantities of fat, sugar, salt, additives, preservatives and colourings
  • Children’s medical requirements are catered for
  • A multi-cultural menu is offered to ensure that the children from all backgrounds encounter familiar tastes and that all children have the opportunity to try unfamiliar/different foods
